I can't get my rabbi to strengthen me to study Torah.
Should I keep it?
For years I have been close to a famous rabbi who everyone believes is righteous and possesses the Holy Spirit, but recently I have been doing some soul-searching with myself and questions arise in my mind: why am I really close to him? Should I stay here?
God bless you, but recently I've been doing some real soul searching with myself and questions come into my mind: Why am I really close to him? It is true that they tell stories of miracles about him and I believe them with all my heart, but on the other hand I see that I am walking broken and unable to receive from him the strength I wanted to serve God, study Torah and pray.
The feeling we have is that we are the only ones following the path of truth and everyone is wrong, but my inner truth asks me: should I stay here?
Bz”H today Wednesday, parashat Vayishlach: Kislev 5775
Peace and blessings to Shmuel in NY
I received your letter.
Response:
First of all, you should know that no one knows who is possessed by the Ruach Hakodesh, our holy sages said (Pesachim 14:) No one knows what is in the heart of his friend; there may be someone who is a great Rasha, and deceives the world by saying that he is possessed by the Ruach Hakodesh, so the first thing you must always remember that no one knows who has the Ruach Hakodesh or not, no one can know, it is just an imagination what people believe about their leader that he has the Ruach Hakodesh, etc.
Rabbeinu speaks in Likutey Moharan 2 paragraph 17: When he was in Israel the great righteous who were there, Rav Avraham Kalisk Z’l and Rav Yakov Shepetovka Z’l and Rav Zev. And it was distributed in Israel there in Eretz Yisrael. And they told him that before they were in Eretz Yisrael they could not imagine to themselves that Eretz Yisrael was in this world, and they argued that Eretz Yisrael was a completely different world, according to the magnitude of the holiness of Eretz Yisrael explained in the books, and explained in our Holy Torah the virtue of Eretz Yisrael several times, and the Torah itself explains everything.
The borders of the Land of Israel by the size of its virtue and holiness are many. Therefore, they could not imagine to themselves that the Land of Israel would be in this world, until they got there and saw that the Land of Israel is in this world, because the Land of Israel is really like these countries, and the land of Israel the Land of Israel looks and is shaped like the soil of those countries. Because what is sometimes brought from there is dirt and even in these countries inferior dirt is found in various places, but most of the dirt in the Land of Israel is like the dirt of those countries.
Because truly physically there is no division between the Land of Israel and other countries, in material, and yet it is very different in the sense of holiness, blessed is he who has the privilege of walking to 4 amot, when our holy sages and all the books report the power of his great sanctity.
And Rabbeinu said this, because it is a very necessary subject, some people get confused because of the mistakes. Because there are people who are mistaken and think that they need to know the tzaddik or any other thing of holiness to know his image and likeness, which will be unique in movements precisely, and in fact he is not like that, because the tzaddik He is in the likeness of all people and there is no particularity about him, and yet he is a completely different person from the rest of the people. Rabbeinu said that the “Kosher” man appears to walk with as much humility and gentleness as other human beings, and yet he is a completely different person. And the Land of Israel is truly distinct and completely separate from other countries in all its affairs and sanctity.
Rabbeinu said that the Land of Israel has a different firmament from other countries as the holy Zohar (Vayakhel) says, yet physically, according to the human eye, there is no change between the Land of Israel and other countries unless Those who have the privilege of believing in his holiness may notice a small difference. In the same way, the tzadik and the kosher people are similar in value to the rest of the world, who are actually similar in all their movements to other human beings in their likeness and image, and there is no physical difference between them in any appearance. of the flesh, and yet we truly believe that they are separate and completely differentiated, because a kosher person is a completely different matter from the truly righteous.
It is impossible for you to know the Tsadik from the outside, because on the outside he may seem like a simple person, but on the inside he is with HaShem, blessed be she! and is completely immersed in the essence of her holiness, may he be blessed, and is ready and willing at any moment to give his soul to him, may he be blessed and that no human being can identify!
One thing you need to know is what our holy sages said (Avot chapter 1) have a rabbi for yourself, and you need to be very careful who you choose, because that is what Rabbeinu Z’l
said (Sichot Haran chapter 6)
The evil inclination is like someone who walks and runs among Humans, has his hand closed and no one knows what is inside it. And he deceives people and asks each one, what am I holding? And everyone seems to be holding onto what they want. And so everyone runs after him because everyone thinks that he in his hand is what they want, etc., and then he opens his hand and there is nothing in it.
each according to his madness and confusion, and then in the end he opens his hand and there is nothing in it, because there is no one who fulfills his desires with him; And so it is with rabbis, etc., a person runs after someone for days and years,
and becomes completely addicted to it.
It seemed that his salvation depended on this rabbi, and he works on him and leaves his money and completely hypnotizes him, and takes his thought out of his mind.
and finally he opens his hand and sees that everything is nothing and I have simply spent days and weeks and months and years of my life, and I have nothing in my hands!
Therefore, when a person approaches any rabbi, no matter who he is, one should always remember what the Rabbeinu said (Sichot Haran chapter 11) what you will receive from me is for you not to be deceived by the world because the world it is very misleading, if you do not immediately receive from the rabbi what you need, we need to know that he lives in the imagination and in a big mistake and what does a person need? the essence of knowledge and understanding.(Deuteronomy 4) "You must know that the Lord is God, there is none other than Him" - to instill in him a simple faith in Him May he be blessed, and teach him how to talk to the Holy , blessed be He, that He has it immediately in His hand, "and that which is in His hand is safe," because I learned from this righteous one how to talk to the Holy One, blessed be He, and know that I am independent and have no one in this world beyond the Holy One, blessed be He, and only he, blessed be He, can help me, and the rabbi must instill in him a huge desire to learn the holy Torah.
Therefore, you have to remember “what is in your hand is right”, if I started studying the Mishnah and Gemara every day, thanks to this rabbi, and I didn't miss a day without studying the Holy Torah, etc., so we must know "what is in your hand is safe", and also if the rabbi helps you in peace at home (shalom bait), we must remember "what is in your hand is safe", and if you do not receive from the rabbi , you must know that it is all a very big imagination, and in the end he will open his hand and see that there is nothing in his hand and I just ran after him for days and years, and I lost my dear years and I have nothing in my power, not only did I not study the Torah, the Bible, the Mishna and the Gemara every day but I also did not pray the three regular prayers – Shacharit, mincha and arvit, Rabbeinu said (Likutey Moharan part 2 Paragraph 8) that the security of Israel is the three prayers, as long as a person prays the three prayers every day knowing that this is the camp of Israel, because if he neglects one prayer he is already starting to leave the camp of Israel.
And then how can you imagine, in the deepest imagination, that you are with a great tzaddik who puts a flame in you, etc., the flame of the heart while you study, and when you study and pray? Don't you see that you live in a great imagination?
May the Holy One, blessed be He, open His eyes and escape from there before it is too late.
Wishing you blessings and success from heaven!
